It is difficult for a Chief Executive Officer to succeed if he lacks leadership competence.
Especially in understanding shared vision, strategy, strategic planning, budgeting, finance, contracting/procurement, operations, performance management, resource management, risk management, cost reduction, compliance, collaboration, and stakeholders management.
Remember that the Governor of Rivers State is the Chief Executive Officer of Rivers State.
At this time, our Chief Executive Officer must be someone with leadership experience in public, private and social sectors. It is time to harness the potentials that exist in all three sectors.
Effective Leadership requires that leaders lead with integrity.
It is difficult for someone with low personal integrity to offer effective group leadership. Because success at the state/group level begins with personal success driven by integrity.
Even with all the good intentions, an incompetent leader or someone with previous value-destroying political experience (1999 to date) cannot deliver much.
The 2023 election is not about the candidates you want to vote into office. It is about the four years (i.e., eight years) of your life and those of your family members.
Sentiments based on popularity will not create jobs or build a better Rivers State.
It is only COMPETENCE in Rivers State that can deliver:
1. Job Creation.
2. Secured Society.
3. Solid Education.
4. Strong Economy.
5. Building 3 New Cities.
6. Accessible Health Services.
7. Human Capacity Development.
8. Good & Integrated Governance.
9. Pension Transformation and Regular Payments.
A key role for me from 2023 as your next Governor by the grace of God Almighty is to identify the abundant talents across Rivers State and inspire them to unleash their potential to create value (happiness) for the people of Rivers State.
