Edo State former governor, Adams Oshiomhole had said that it would have been a shame if he had lost his senatorial ambition.
Oshiomhole who is currently the Senator representing Edo North Senatorial district while speaking about his election to the Senate, stated that many governors lost in their quest to becoming senators, adding that if he had lost in the election, it would have been shame to him. He made this known on Saturday last week during the post-inauguration/ thank you party hosted in his honour by supporters, friends and well-wishers at his home in Iyamho, Etsako, Edo State.
According to him “If you have voted against me, I don’t know my blood pressure will now be 240/0360. That’s if I’m still alive. Because the jubilations by the opponent would have been such that they will come and lock my small door and break my small bones. But you said no. “
While thanking the people for voting for him as governor and also voting for President Bola Tinubu in the February presidential election, he noted that Edo North district was the only district won by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the state. He further pledged his commitment in giving the Edo North a very good representation.
In his words “There were sitting governors who contested for Senate across the country and many of them lost. I left office seven years ago and my people still honoured me with victory; how can I thank you enough? Afeami people, when you go back to your wards and units, tell your people that I am very grateful. During the campaign, I told you if you want to give me one vote, give it to Bola Ahmed Tinubu. “
