- Minister of works, Senator David Umahi has promised to dialogue with cement manufacturing companies to reduce the prices of their products.
He disclosed this while featuring on Sunrise Daily television programme yesterday.
Umahi said contractors have been complaining over the high cost of cement and suggested that importing the product would be cheaper.
The statement read, “I’m going to be running figures with them ( Cement manufacturers) to check the cost of cement if we import it and the cost they are giving us here.
“There is a need to use concrete technology. It’s going to make our roads last for a minimum of 50 years.”
The Minister of works also assured Nigerians of the readiness of President Bola Tinubu to provide funds for construction of quality roads across the country.
