TWO-TIME governorship candidate in Rivers State, Sir (Dr.) Leesi Gborogbosi, has offered free political strategy and governance advisory support to credible candidates seeking elective office in the 2027 elections.
Gborogbosi, convener of the Gborogbosi Support Movement (GSM) and Rivers of Our Dreams Initiative (ROODI), said the initiative was driven by his desire to help produce competent and visionary leaders capable of moving Rivers State towards development, harmony and prosperity.
He made the offer in a statement titled “Rivers State Needs a New Direction,” in which he described the state as being at a critical crossroads ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to him, “Our collective interests are increasingly being sacrificed to narrow individual interests, creating disharmony, imbalance and underdevelopment”.
“My passion is to see a better, more prosperous and respected Rivers State – a state where development reaches every community, where our people live and work together in harmony, and where ethnic cohesion, equity and opportunity define our future.”
Gborogbosi stressed that meaningful change would require more than simply replacing political officeholders. He said Rivers State needed credible leadership at every level of government.
“We need the right leaders at every level – Governorship, Senate, House of Representatives and House of Assembly”.
“We must have candidates who are credible, competent, committed and compassionate, and who genuinely love Rivers State,” he said.
He cautioned against replacing existing officeholders with leaders who would continue to misuse public resources while citizens struggle with poverty and economic hardship.
“We cannot simply replace one person with another who will continue to feed fat on public resources while our people struggle with poverty and hunger,” he said.
Free Strategic and Governance Support
Gborogbosi said his initiative would provide selected candidates with practical support in political strategy, grassroots mobilisation, campaign organisation, stakeholder engagement and governance planning.
“Through the Gborogbosi Support Movement and Rivers of Our Dreams Initiative, I am prepared to offer free political strategy and governance advisory support to credible candidates who genuinely want to develop Rivers State,” he stated.
He said his experience in strategy, management, the oil and gas industry, consulting and academia would be deployed to help candidates develop practical programmes capable of delivering measurable results.
“Our support will focus on political and grassroots strategy, campaign organisation and execution, stakeholder and community engagement, governance strategy and implementation, and converting a credible vision into measurable results,” he said.
Gborogbosi urged interested candidates to submit their governance blueprints for assessment, stressing that support would be directed towards candidates with credible, realistic and implementable programmes for transforming Rivers State.
“This is not about personal gain. It is about building a prosperous Rivers State and Nigeria. When society prospers, we all prosper,” he said.
